<image:title>Clinical Supervision and Consultation - Clinical Supervision</image:title>
<image:caption>Getting clinical supervision is such an important aspect in growing as a clinician in the mental health field. We provide dynamic, challenging, supportive supervision for LSWs and LACs who are looking to obtain clinical licensure. During your time in clinical supervision, we will aim to strike a balance between developing your clinical skills, as well as mastering the necessary administrative components. We will utilize case presentation, discussion and reading material to strengthen your theoretical framework, identify and address transference and countertransference issues, develop strategies and interventions for the best client care, create a work/life balance and establish good self-care, and conceptualize the ethical and administrative realm as you discover your voice as a clinician. In addition, we will work on preparing your for the clinical evaluation, if needed. We offer individual, as well as group supervision, with reasonable rates.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Founder, Clinical Director, Psychotherapist, Certified Neurodiversity Affirming Assessment Practitioner “Everything is scary if you just look at it. So you’ve got to live it.” ~Mary J. Blige I would say being a therapist chose me. From a young age, I was always an empathetic observer, seeing and feeling things other people seemingly didn’t. I began my education at Rider University, with a Bachelors of Psychology and concentration in Cognitive Neuroscience. I went on to obtain my Masters of Social Work from Rutgers University in 2009, and completed my clinical licensure in 2012. During that time, I worked for Virtua Hospital’s The Center for Women in Lumberton. There, I counseled women experiencing anxiety and depression during pregnancy and postpartum, infertility, pregnancy/infant loss, and birth trauma. I specialize in treating anxiety disorders and OCD, particularly in pregnancy and postpartum. I am trained in Exposure and Response Prevention, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Inference Based CBT for OCD (I-CBT), and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, as well as Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. In addition to treating clients, I also provide clinical supervision for LSWs and LACs looking to obtain clinical licensure, consultation to other therapists, and coaching for fellow equestrians looking to overcome fear in and out of the saddle and mental obstacles in competition. I am deeply passionate about supporting neurodivergent individuals through neurodiversity-affirming assessments for ADHD and autism across the lifespan—serving children, adolescents, and adults. As someone diagnosed with ADHD later in life, and a parent and partner to neurodivergent family members, I bring both personal insight and professional expertise to my work. My approach emphasizes comprehensive, well-rounded evaluations that honor the whole person rather than focusing on deficits. In addition to assessments, I enjoy coaching and supporting neurodivergent parents, families, and partners as they navigate parenting and relationships with confidence, connection, and attunement. In recent years, I have become an approved continuing education provider through NBCC and ASWB. I create and facilitate trainings for other clinicians on treating anxiety disorders and OCD in the perinatal and maternal mental health community, as well as the intersection of neurodivergence and OCD. I was an early adopter of Inference-Based CBT for OCD in the United States, and am one of the first to begin providing trainings on this modality in the United States, as well. I am also one of the co-founders of OCD Training School. To learn more about my available trainings and courses, please find me here! I approach therapy in an authentic and relatable way. I am always amazed by the resiliency of people, and our ability to make changes if given the tools and space. In my free time, I spend time outside on my horse farm to keep me grounded, and chasing my chickens and kids (both human and goat). <image:caption>Psychotherapist “Coffee, Coffee, Coffee.” - Lorelei Gilmore I approach therapy from the understanding that we are highly motivated by core emotional needs. I help facilitate understanding and compassion for the often confusing and contradictory nature of what we think, feel, need, believe, and ultimately do. Unnecessary inner conflict can be simplified by making intentional choices and taking full accountability for our lives as much as possible. I earned my Master’s Degree in Counseling from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ). My areas of expertise are treating anxiety disorder with a specialization in treating OCD. I use a combination of approached - my Big Three - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Parts Work from Internal Family Systems. While staying solution focused in every session, I take time to focus on increasing self-trust, honoring inner wisdom, and changing the limiting stories we tell ourselves. A key sign of progress to me is being able to bridge the distance between the most polarizing parts of ourselves. In my free time, I indulge my need for constant learning by watching a lot of documentaries, listening to podcasts, and reading. When I'm not craving alone time, I like to cook and relax with my husband and spoil my cat, Emmett. I look forward to the strides we can make and I feel honored to be a part of your journey. <image:caption>Psychotherapist “Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for; we are the change that we seek.” Our worlds are complex, with so many opportunities for stress to overwhelm us, and it can feel impossible to manage at times. Our thoughts and behaviors end up reflecting the chaotic worlds we live in and cause many of us to feel like we’ve lost our inner sense of self. Through an eclectic therapeutic approach, I work with clients in defining their personal goals and attaining their most authentic selves. I received my Master’s in Social Work from NYU in 2017. During that time, I gained diverse experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with chronic mental health and physical health challenges. I also have a great deal of specialized experience working with individuals and families navigating cancer diagnoses. I welcome all ages and genders, with a particular interest in emotional and behavioral health in children and adolescents. Through my experience, I have developed a strong foundation in meaning-centered psychotherapy and CBT. I am passionate about helping clients access their inner strengths to find purpose in their lives, despite traumatic life experiences. My personal life experiences reinforced my calling to become a therapist. I believe that even in our most painful depths of despair, we always have hope and strength within us - sometimes we just need to learn how to find them. I am grateful to work with clients in the private practice setting and provide them with the support they need to navigate through life’s many challenges. In my free time, I enjoy reading, journaling, and spending time with loved ones. My favorite weekend activity is spending time outside with my Old English Sheepdog, Daisy, and reading. <image:caption>Psychotherapist “For there is always light, if only we're brave enough to see it. If only we're brave enough to be it” Change is tough; but so are you! You also know yourself better than anyone else. YOU get to decide what changes you want to make and what that might look like. I would be honored to support you through that process and help you wherever you are at in your life. I truly appreciate the strength that it takes to seek help. I feel extremely privileged to have found my passion and for the opportunity to provide assistance along your journey. Since I was a young girl, I knew that I wanted to help others. I have always been an empathetic listener and can imagine what someone else might be feeling. As an adult, I have learned how very challenging life can be and that we all could benefit from some help! After starting college at the State University of New York at Albany, I quickly realized that the degree that I wished to pursue was in Clinical Social Work. I received my Bachelors degree and decided my next move was to get some real life experience. I accepted a position working with people with severe and persistent mental health issues and it was confirmed - I had found the right helping profession for me. To advance my career, I attended Rutgers University to complete my Masters in Social Work and specialized my studies in addictions. My experience has been quite well rounded. I have worked in many different settings with people of varying ages, severity of symptoms, backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, ethnicities, and belief systems. I specialize in treating people with anxiety, depression and substance use disorders. I have genuinely enjoyed working with such a wide range of people and am very excited to continue this work. I welcome the opportunity to provide support to anyone who is open to it! I find helping young adults learn to manage a difficult or new chapter of life to be particularly rewarding. When I’m not working, I love to spend time outdoors (especially near water!), traveling, eating delicious food, and spending time with my family and friends. <image:caption>Psychotherapist “When you’re in a dark place, you sometimes tend to think you’ve been buried. Perhaps you’ve been planted. Bloom.” Being a therapist has been my calling since I was in my early teens. During my time at Penn State University, where I received a BA in Psychology and a BS in Rehabilitation & Human Services, my career was solidified by a counseling internship working with incarcerated people. I immediately went on to obtain my MA in Rehabilitation Counseling at George Washington University and spent the next 5 years working in community based mental health. I transitioned to private practice in 2020, which has been a dream come true as it allows me to focus solely on therapy. Outside of New Jersey I also maintain clinical licensure in Washington, DC and am certified to provide teletherapy in Florida and Vermont. My passion is helping adults deal with the challenges they face while cultivating the skills needed to lead happy, peaceful, and purposeful lives. Whether you’re dealing with general feelings of unhappiness, depression, anxiety, anger, resentment, low self-esteem, or experiencing challenging reactions to relationship issues, life transitions, grief, or trauma, I am here to help you on your path to healing. My clinical specialty is perinatal mental health, including pregnancy/infant loss, infertility, postpartum, and adjustment to parenthood. I am trained by Postpartum Support International, of which I am also a member, and am also trained in Exposure and Response Prevention for the treatment of OCD/anxiety. I love to cook, and in my free time I enjoy being outside – either on the beach or on my snowboard, and whenever possible, travel the world. <image:caption>Psychotherapist “You spend most of your life inside your head. Make it a nice place to be.” Our thoughts are powerful. They often have a significant impact on how we feel about ourselves and our lives. When negative thoughts enter our mind they can be intrusive, overwhelming and cause us to feel anxious and depressed. “Think more positive!” is MUCH easier said than done, especially when facing difficult times. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe and empathetic environment where my clients can feel free to share thoughts and feelings without judgment. Using a combined cognitive-based, client-centered and solution-focused approach, I help my clients to develop effective coping skills, recognize their personal strengths and create a more peaceful mind. Throughout my childhood, my friends would often come to me to discuss their problems. I was raised by therapists and it seemed natural to lend an ear or words of encouragement to those that I cared for. When I was young my mother said to me “maybe one day you’ll be a therapist.” It was as simple as that. My career seemed to be more of calling than it was a choice and I never contemplated doing anything else. After graduating from NYU with a Master’s degree in social work I spent my career working within a variety of settings including a correctional facility, inpatient psychiatric units, a hospital trauma center and an outpatient Oncology program. I helped individuals who were struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, loss/grief, chronic illness and persistent mental illness. Currently, I specialize in working with anxiety spectrum disorders, emotional/mental health during pregnancy and postpartum, and infertility. I enjoyed each of these settings and became specialized in short-term crisis-intervention. However, I was limited in the amount of time I could spend with each client. I decided to enter private practice for the opportunity to provide long-term counseling. I enjoy providing ongoing support and therapeutic strategies to help create positive, long-lasting changes. When I am not working, I enjoy traveling, spending time with my family and friends, and caring for my MANY farm animals and pets. <image:caption>Psychotherapist “Today will be what it is, I will be who I am, and there will be beauty in both” When I was an adolescent, I experienced a great loss and the grief that comes with it. It was in that moment I chose to accept the support of those around me which helped me in my healing process. Throughout schooling, I had a passion for being the “listener”, the “insightful and empathic one”. I recognized my resilience and wanted nothing more than to be able to help others see their own resilience. In high school, I knew being a therapist was my calling. Following high school, I enrolled in the Psychology program at Montclair State University where I received my Bachelors degree in 2012. I then continued my education at Caldwell University in 2013 where I received my Masters in Mental Health Counseling. I completed my clinical licensure while working at an Adolescent Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Program. There, I worked with children and adolescents in crisis situations, as a step down from hospitalization. Utilizing my training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), my clients would return to school full time-prepared for adversities as they had a wealth of knowledge in mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness skills. I began to work in the outpatient field part time in 2018 and quickly realized the type of progress that can be achieved in long term therapy is exponential. It allows for people the time and space to be able to reflect, learn, grow, and change their habits, mindsets, and relationships for the better. My clinical niche is working with adolescents and young adults dealing with depression, anxiety, interpersonal issues, emotional dysregulation, impulse control issues, unhealthy coping skills and quality of life interfering behaviors. Throughout our time together, expect validation, empathy, and problem-solving skills to help increase mindfulness, self-acceptance, reduce emotional suffering, improve relationships and build a life worth living. My favorite way to spend my free time is with my growing family and our cat (Stracciatella). I love to cook, bake, and decorate for the holidays. Once early summer comes, I enjoy soaking up the sun at the lake, and with my toes in the sand down the shore I can be reached directly at danielle@changeofmindcounseling.com</image:caption>

<image:caption>The most important thing to me as a person and clinician is that people feel safe in my presence. I pride myself on learning about every person’s unique perspective, even when that person at first feels alone in their experience. To be human means both to suffer and to feel joy. I hope to honor your experience in both, and in everything that comes between. I began my education at Ursinus College, where I studied both Dance and Media/Communications. After working in the arts and in social work-related fields, I pursued a Masters of Social Work from Rutgers University and thereafter became a Licensed Social Worker. During my time at Rutgers, I interned with Jewish Family Service in Somerset, New Jersey, where I worked with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults facing issues such as anxiety, depression, and transitional issues. My approach is grounded in the person-in-environment perspective, where I acknowledge that our individual experiences are impacted by our relationships, our communities, and society at large. I emphatically honor the complexities of our lived experiences by embracing differences in each client’s race, cultural background, gender expression, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, disability status, and age, and by acknowledging ways in which marginalization and oppression through membership of different groups impact mental and physical health. While my approach to therapy is eclectic and is catered to the individual needs of the client, I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Techniques, Motivational Interviewing, and I draw from Psychodynamic Theory and Attachment Theory. When I’m not working, I enjoy salsa dancing, trying new foods, and spending time with my family, friends, and goldendoodle.</image:caption>
